Every item that arrives is tested rather than estimated. Hallmarks are verified, metal purity is measured, and gemstones are examined by a specialist rather than assumed to be whatever the setting suggests.
We take every evaluation seriously. A scrap gold band goes through the same testing procedure as a five-carat diamond ring. The value differs. The process does not.
Markings are only the starting point. A stamp records what a manufacturer claimed. Testing shows what is actually there, and the two do not always agree.
We follow the metal markets daily. Gold, platinum and silver prices move constantly, and our offers move with them.
Difficult pieces are decided as a team. Where authenticity or attribution is in question, more than one specialist looks at it before we commit to a number.
Reference literature for significant jewelry. Designer and period pieces are checked against published references, not valued on appearance alone.
